This case tells the life story of Daniela Werner, an opera singer of German origin who spent some time in a judicial psychiatric hospital for the “attempted murder” of her partner Claudio del Monaco, impresario and son of the famous tenor Mario.
The singer, who was fascinated by the tenor’s story, first became involved with the other son, without achieving much in the way of love or professional success; then she fell in love and became involved with Claudio. The two “throw themselves” into the risky project of launching Lei as a singer, with a paradoxical move that sees the fellow impresario leave his position to become her exclusive impresario, starting from nothing and relying on his authority and “name”.
The reconstruction takes place in the form of an interview, from the point of view of the woman, whose answers reveal how, even in conditions of overall mental equilibrium, the vision of the event still maintains some “dead spots”.
